Start your journey in the charming village of Edale and embark on one of the Peak District's most iconic hikes. This circular route takes you up Grindsbrook Clough, where a flagstone path gives way to rocky terrain and a fun scramble to reach the Kinder Plateau.

🥾 Alport Castles Walk: A Scenic Adventure from Ladybower Reservoir 🌿
Alport Castles is a fantastic route to explore from Ladybower Reservoir, offering a mix of stunning views, rugged rocks, tranquil streams, and peaceful woodlands.
Most walks from the Fairholmes Visitor Centre head in the other direction, taking you around Ladybower Reservoir, Derwent Dam, and Derwent Edge. This route to Alport Castles provides a quieter alternative.
It’s a circular walk starting from Fairholmes car park. The path ascends through the woods before flattening out, leading you along the edge of Rowlee Pasture all the way to Alport Castles.
Here, you can soak in the breathtaking views and even scramble to the top of ‘The Tower’ before descending to follow the River Alport toward Alport Bridge. The route then takes you along the River Ashop before a final ascent and descent back to the car park at Ladybower.

Total ascent: 794 m / 2,604 ft
Highest point: 486 m / 1,594 ft

A lovely walk from Baslow in Derbyshire with a mix of everything, including rivers, views and woodlands.
This 11-mile route takes you from Baslow, along the River Derwent via the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, before ascending through Hay Wood to the start of Froggatt Edge.
From here you follow three of the Peak District’s beautiful edges; Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge and Baslow Edge, before descending through beautiful woodlands to return back to Baslow.
There’s one stone stile on this walk, see details in stage 4 for avoiding this if you want a stile-free (dog-friendly route).
